1. Introduction This Privacy Policy explains how the Pantry Craft application ("we," "our," or "us") handles, protects, and processes your information. We are committed to ensuring your privacy while providing a smart, local-first kitchen management experience. This policy applies exclusively to the Pantry Craft mobile application.
2. Data Collection and Local Storage Pantry Craft is designed with a privacy-centric, local-first architecture. We do not require account creation, and we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal identity data on our own external servers. All core application data—including your configured name, preferred local grocery store, pantry inventory, and grocery lists—is stored securely and entirely locally on your physical device using Android's native database infrastructure.
3. Third-Party Services and AI Processing To power our "Smart Sous-Chef" recipe generation and real-time grocery cost estimations, Pantry Craft integrates with Google’s Gemini API. When you request a recipe or a price estimate, the app transmits only the necessary contextual data (such as your selected ingredients or grocery list items) to Google's API for processing. We do not transmit persistent device identifiers, your personal name, or your contact information to this service. Data processed by Google through this API is governed by Google’s own Privacy Policy and API terms of service.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure We do not sell, rent, or distribute your personal information to third-party marketers, advertisers, or data brokers. Your data is only shared with the aforementioned third-party AI service strictly to facilitate the app's core generative and estimation functionalities. We will comprehensively disclose any future changes to third-party sharing practices.
5. Data Retention and Deletion Because your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain complete and absolute control over it. You can permanently delete all your Pantry Craft data at any time by taking either of the following actions:
Clearing the app's data and cache within your Android device's application settings.
Uninstalling the Pantry Craft application from your device. Upon uninstallation, all locally stored inventory, preferences, and lists are permanently destroyed.
6. Children's Privacy Pantry Craft does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can guide you on how to delete the local app data from their device.
